The Cheshire County Shooting Sports Education Foundation, also known as Ferry Brook Range, is kicking off a capital campaign to raise the remaining $250,000.00 needed to build a 7 lane indoor range. The total cost of making this indoor range operational is $750,000.00, and we have already secured $500,000.00 to start the construction. We are calling this campaign “Securing the Future”. Why this name? The CCSSEF Board of Directors realizes we have an obligation to make sure we are educating our youth to carry on the traditions we hold dear. If you have ever participated in shooting sports you know it comes with a big responsibility. You also know the benefits it comes with as well: discipline, personal accountability, and freedom. We have seen over the years how our sport and constitutional freedoms are being threatened. Please consider being a part of this great organization and securing the future of the Cheshire County Shooting Sports Education Foundation.
The Cheshire County Shooting Sports Education Foundation has provided opportunities to enjoy the shooting sports in various forms since 1923. The organization started with 167 members in 1923 as Ferry Brook Range. In 1936 The Cheshire County Fish & Game Club was incorporated in the State of New Hampshire at the same location. In 2010 the Board of Directors created a separate organization, the Cheshire County Shooting Sports Education Foundation.
In 2015, Cheshire County Fish & Game Club merged with the Cheshire County Shooting Sports Education Foundation into one organization. We are now a New Hampshire 501(c)3 non-profit organization with over 800 members dedicated to making sure the general public and members have a safe facility for a variety of shooting sports. Our focus is to promote firearms safety, training, and education. Part of the Foundation’s mission is to build and operate an indoor range that will meet the year-round needs of the community. Personal protection and competitive shooting sports are an everyday part of the Foundation members’ lives and, as such, are traditions that we feel must be passed on to future generations. The Foundation leaders and members sincerely feel that they have an individual and collective obligation to ensure that these traditions remain intact, thus preserving our shooting sports heritage forever.
This represents Phase 1 providing indoor shooting sports to the general public and members. Phase 2 will provide additional classrooms and office space.
